Call to Worship: Our waiting is almost at an end. Today we light the fourth Advent candle. We light this candle as a sign of love. We are humbled because God spoke through the prophet Isaiah words about a coming child to be named Emmanuel. "God with us." These words of long ago have new meaning for us today. We are humbled because God directed Joseph to accept Mary's unusual pregnancy as a sign of the Spirit's activity. These surprising directions led to a path of life. We are humbled because God raised Jesus from the dead, showing that this was no ordinary man, but God's own Son. This work of love for all humankind brings us faith, hope, and joy.

Offertory Call: When you give, you obey God. When you obey God, you release the power of the Holy Spirit in you and through you, in turn you obey God and give. This is God's plan. Give as giving unto the Lord.
